How to learn Hindi Language

Hindi is a language, which can be easily mastered by a normal man without much effort. Dedication and passion are the two things that you should posses while learning Hindi language. Those who love Hindi language and likes to speak in Hindi can soon catch up the grammar, verbs and pronunciation. Moreover, kids will learn Hindi language much faster than adults as they are young and generally gets Hindi language classes in their schools. In order to master Hindi language quickly, you need to start from the basics first:


  • Alphabets first: Before jumping into Hindi words or phrases, you should learn each and every Hindi alphabets thoroughly so that it will offer you a confident start. In every languages, alphabets play the major role in construction of various words and phrases.


  • Understand the grammar thoroughly: Remember that in Hindi language, almost all the nouns have a gender, which is either Masculine or Feminine. Nouns like object names, places, people all will be either Masculine or Feminine. Therefore, it is very important to know the difference in these genders in Hindi language for proper communication. Moreover, these nouns and pronouns also shows the level of politeness in your conversation.

  • Don’t forget verbs: Verbs in Hindi language are equally important as that of nouns. It is better to start learning Hindi verbs in the infinitive form so that it will be more easy for you to grasp the techniques.

  • Start with simple words: Once you are done with the alphabets and basic grammar section, you can slowly start your conversation with simple words and greetings. Start with words like ‘hello’, ‘thanks’, ‘goodbye’ etc. in Hindi.

  • Study numbers and weeks: Start counting numbers in Hindi because it is the simple part that you can learn easily without much effort. Also, try to study the name of days and months since they are very important in conversations.

  • Learn simple phrases: Once you got a general idea about all these commonly used words, start forming simple sentences using them. Use sentences like ‘Aap ka naam kya hai’ means ‘What is your name?’, ‘Aap kaisey hain?’ means ‘How are you’ etc., which are some basic questions.

  • Hire a good Hindi teacher: It is good to hire some experienced Hindi teacher, if you are planning to learn Hindi extensively. Hindi language trainers can teach you the grammar and words thoroughly. Moreover, they will make you read more Hindi books and articles in order to increase your fluency level.

  • Try to talk in Hindi: Find any friends or relatives who is very fluent in Hindi and try to talk with them in Hindi regularly. This will automatically improve your confidence level and Hindi knowledge.

  • Watch Hindi movies and TV Shows: Bollywood movies and Hindi TV shows can contribute a lot to your Hindi learning mission. If you are a regular Hindi film viewer, you will be able to grasp the meanings of words and phrases easily. Moreover, the conversations in Hindi films will help you to identify the genders used in every occasions.
